They serve several purposes: facilitate creating a network of contacts between the beneficiaries maritime administrations provide a useful tool for monitoring the progress of the administrations and for detection of areas where technical assistance is needed support the beneficiary countries to fulfil their obligations to provide information to the IMO / GISIS 7 Port State Control (PSC) Tutoring courses on PSC 15 19 June/ Batumi, GEO and 14 18 September/ Baku, AZE intensive, very practical and specific trainings for acting PSCOs delivered by Paris MoU inspectors

combined 1 day theoretical training followed by 4 days of joint inspections to ensure effective transfer of practical knowledge and skills to the trainees findings and recommendations for improvement provided to the maritime administrations POSITIVE some of the recommendations have already been implemented 8 Port State Control (PSC) Access to RuleCheck and the Distance Learning Package Rulecheck comprehensive database on international legislation relevant to PSC and PSC regional procedures with built-in search engines allowing filtering the requirements to a specific ship regularly up-dated

participants knowledge presenting best practices in relation to the enforcement of MARPOL at national and regional level, including real cases and the use of CSN as one of the enforcement tools facilitating the exchange of views between the beneficiary countries and EU Members States national maritime administrations, cooperation agreements and EMSA 17 Major achievements Well established communication channels (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine) Fostering cooperation between experts from the different beneficiary countries working in the same area (exchange of contact information, views and experience during the project events)
